The Great Divide is the geographic point where all waters flow either west to the Pacific Ocean or east to the Atlantic Ocean. Located 16 km northwest of Rocky Mountain House, Crimson Lake Provincial Park boasts dense evergreen forests and is a popular destination for camping, hiking, swimming, fishing and boating.
Encompassing a landscape of dry grasslands, forests and rivers, the Kootenay Plains Ecological Reserve is home to more than 60 species of birds as well as elk, mule deer, moose and mountain sheep. Camping and picnic facilities are located in the park, and visitors may enjoy hiking trails to Siffleur Canyon and Falls. The park is located 70 km (42 mi) southwest of Nordegg.
